Sabine Marcelis is a Dutch artist and designer. After studying design at the Design Academy Eindhoven, she founded Studio Sabine Marcelis in Rotterdam.

Specializing in product, installation, and spatial design, Marcelis has honed her craft with a keen eye for materiality. Her creations boast clean, minimalist forms that accentuate the inherent qualities of the materials she employs. Collaborating closely with industry experts, Marcelis takes a hands-on approach to production, leveraging material research and experimentation to achieve captivating visual effects. Her designs blur the lines between art and function, offering sensorial experiences that transcend mere utility.

Marcelis’s work has been featured in exhibitions, with solo presentations at renowned venues such as the Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Pavilion, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, and the Vitra Design Museum. She has collaborated with top fashion houses such as Fendi, Céline, and Dior, and has created art installations for esteemed institutions like Art d’Egypte, among others. Marcelis’ innovative work has earned her recognition from respected design awards, including Dezeen Designer of the Year 2024, Elle Deco International Designer of the Year 2023 and Wallpaper* Designer of the Year 2020.
