Koos Breen is an interdisciplinary designer, art director, curator, and artist based in The Hague (NL). Trained as a graphic designer at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, his work now ranges from coins to carpets, from books to shoes, and from tables to spatial installations. He has been commissioned by the Royal House of the Netherlands; the Royal Dutch Mint; the Escher Museum (NL); Bloc Studios (IT); and the Nieuwe Instituut (NL). He often collaborates with other artists, designers and studios; including Studio Hagel, Studio Dumbar, Gabriel Fontana, Nadine Goepfert and Audrey Large. He has co-organised various international exhibitions; is a member of the international collective Morph.Love, is co-curator of the world-wide Design in Motion (DEMO) Festival, has taught at the HfG Karlsruhe (DE); and has been a judge on several international (graphic) design awards. His work has been shown at various international exhibitions, including at the Design Museum Ghent (BE), Escher Museum The Hague (NL), K11 Art Foundation Guangzhou (CN), Etage Projects Copenhagen (DK) and he recently designed the exhibition at the Dutch Pavilion in Venice for the Architecture Biennale. Koos is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale.
