Hannah La Follette Ryan is a Brooklyn-based photographer and educator. She is best known for her Subway Hands Instagram series (@subwayhands). The project has been featured in dozens of publications in the US and abroad. She freelances for the New York Times, New York Magazine and the Nation. Her work is in demand in the fashion world where she has collaborated with the likes of Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Coach and Tiffany and Co. In 2022, she started teaching street photography at the International Center of Photography where her work is currently on display.
